Anderson Falls
Tucked away along a winding country road is an easily accessible, year round Hoosier waterfall .
Anderson Falls are about 10’ high, depending upon rainfall totals, and 100’ wide. Of the 737 official waterfalls in the state of Indiana, Anderson Falls is one of the most consistent as far as waterflow.
Lovely to visit in any season, the 40+ acre preserve offers nature lovers , birders, photographers and explorers an opportunity to meander along two trails, each well under 2 miles long, and both being located on the far side of the Fall Fork of Clifty Creek. Be very careful about fording the creek, and be prepared to skip the trails if water levels are dangerous.
There is no fee to visit this tranquil spot , so it’s an affordable break from the routine. With seasonal bathrooms, short trails, and ample scenery, this is a great destination for the entire family; leashed dogs, included!
Anderson Falls is located just an hour ‘s drive from Columbus, Indiana, and just a couple of miles off State Road 46 in Bartholomew County. The 40+ acre site had been donated to Bartholomew County in 1981 by The Nature Conservancy and remains a protected nature preserve for the enjoyment of everyone.
