Craft your own Cascarones - Confetti Filled Eggs!
Crack!
Shatter!
That’s the sound of breaking confetti and toy filled celebratory eggs. For each cascarón, blow out one egg, wash with hot, soapy water inside and out, and allow to dry before dyeing the egg. It is very important for the egg to dry completely before moving to the next step.
Use a small funnel to fill the egg with confetti. Add a little glitter if you feel sparkly, or carefully tuck a small toy inside! Once filled, glue or tape tissue paper, stickers, sequins or other decorations over the hole(s), keeping the confetti securely inside.
As soon as kids of any age discover the fun of gently cracking the filled eggs over the heads of fellow revelers, it might be necessary to make another dozen or more cascarones!
FYI - It’s best to keep these mini explosions of color outside! Although ideal for Easter celebrations, these eggs can also be enjoyed during Carnival, birthdays, Day of the Dead, weddings – anytime a fluttering rainbow of fun is in order!
